October 21-22, 2010 – “We're Back!”

We are celebrating the 11th year of Senior Expo Utah. What started as a small event has now grown to encompass nearly 7,000 individuals partaking in health screenings and flu-shots all while enjoying a sales free atmosphere with local companies.

Unique collaborations with local hospitals; health care providers; public and private entities; non-profits; and institutions of higher education, allow Salt Lake County to offer the experience of the Senior Expo. Older adults, their family members and caregivers have an opportunity to receive a variety of free/low cost health screenings while learning about community resources.

Through the generous contributions of sponsors, the County is able to offer this two day event with no admission cost. Sponsor contributions also allow numerous non-profit organizations to educate the public about available resources and services.

For businesses, the Senior Expo presents the opportunity to introduce their services and detail the many benefits they offer attendees. Participants are encouraged to ask questions about the many private sector resources and services available to them. (Sales free event.)

Once again this year's Senior Expo attendees can expect such popular mainstays as:

  • Free/low cost health screenings;
  • Flu-shots - introducing the new 3 in 1 high-dose immunization for 65+, including H1N1;
  • Medicare assistance;
  • Advanced directives;
  • Live entertainment with the Phoenix Jazz & Swing Band and bingo;
  • Memory Lane - $1,000 gift card giveaway!

    In light of today's economy, this year's Expo is introducing a Senior Job/Volunteer Pavilion. These booths will focus on helping seniors with job search assistance, resume and interview coaching and employment counseling as well as educating them about available volunteer opportunities throughout Salt Lake County. This fair is open to adults 55 years of age or older.

    Senior Expo hours are:

     8 am - 5 pm Thursday and Friday, October 21 - 22.
